So this is a bit different from what I usually work on, but thought it might be interesting to take a look at.

The entire project started with the idea of having a desk that was designed, and worked completely for what I needed. I decided to build it myself because after a lot of searching it was apparent that this was the only way to get exactly what I wanted out of the project. It was also a great way to challenge myself as I haven't built something like this before.

Everything started with an 80x30 solid wood door that weighed about 70 pounds. It may seem a bit like overkill, but the space would be much needed for everything being placed on the desk later, and I also figured that with the additional weight the entire desk would be more stable. I started the build by sanding the entire door, and rounding off the corners and edges. Once all of that was done it was time to move on to paint.
