Accent lighting is something I decided later on that I would like to try with the desk. So I got an LED light kit, and got to work. The light kit was great. All that needed to be done was cut the LED lights to size, connect them to their power supply, and they were set. This was an awesome idea, and I really think it helps complete the look of the desk. I set the color of the LED lights to match the lights on the computer, and keyboard to tie everything together. However the LED lights tend to highlight the wires that are still visible under the desk, but it would have been a lot worse without the cable management baskets. In the second image here you'll be able to see exactly what I'm referring to.
In the image below you can see how the lights and everything else are connected under the desk. There's quite a lot of wires hidden here, and this is just one half of the desk. The other side has its own share of cable management fun as well. A real added benefit of the lights that I wasn't expecting is now when I have to work on something under the desk it's much easier to see everything, and I don't need a flashlight anymore. Just a few more things to add now, and this build can be called done.
